Widening Our Awareness: An Indigenous Lens
Widening Our Awareness
From Individual to Collective suffering:
A View Through an Indigenous lens
Mondays, October 8, 15 and 22, 6:30-8:30pm
Mindfulness Community of Puget Sound is on a path of creating a
Beloved Sangha grounded in a shared understanding of our individual
and collective suffering. With the aspiration to continue on this path, we
are dedicating three Monday nights in October (October 8, 15 and 22) to
engaging our practice in an exploration of historical and contemporary
Indigenous experiences and perspectives.
This series of offerings will provideĀ opportunities to:
- deepen our awareness about Indigenous history in North America
- explore the 2 nd Mindfulness Trainingās teachings on suffering,
happiness, compassion and understanding through an Indigenous
lens - practice Touching the Earth with reverence and gratitude for our
land ancestors - expand our experience of interbeing in Indigenous and Buddhist
world views
This series of three Monday nights will build on each other, with each
session expanding on the previous one.
