This is a legendary moment! We are pleased that you will be joining us for this Gift of Queerness Retreat, the first of its kind in Seattle, Washington held in the tradition of the Plum Village Community of Engaged Buddhism. We rest on these ancestral lands of the Duwamish and other Coast Salish Peoples. During the retreat we are supported by a multitude of Queer Dharma teachers, youth and elders in our tradition including members of the Mindfulness Community of Puget Sound and Chrysanthemum Online Queer Sangha and friends.

Our planned schedule will be a balance of structured time as well as time for greater creativity and flow. This is a collaborative offering that depends upon your fullest participation in order to be most fruitful. Thank you in advance for your whole-hearted presence and contributions.

Community Gathering including allies at Monday Night sangha
June 27, 6:30 – 8:30pm
at Dharma Gate, 1910 – 24th Avenue South, Seattle
(with COVID protocols) and online
No registration needed.  Link available here.

For the first time, an LGBT-centered Plum Village tradition event will be hosted at Dharma Gate. We see this as a step forward in helping to manifest our teacher Thich Nhat Hanh’s commitment to sangha-building a beloved community. This space allows members of the LGBT communities to gather together, encouraging a feeling of shared, collective energy with creativity through mindfulness practice supported by elders including Queer Dharma teachers and longtime practitioners and those newer to the practice in our lineage. The retreat will conclude with an offering with allies during Monday Night Sangha with the Mindfulness Community of Puget Sound.
