Return to In-Person Practices
Update on the use of Dharma Gate for Mindfulness Community of Puget Sound practices as of January 2025.
To uphold the values of caring for all within our sangha, we are reinstating masking policies at Dharma Gate for MCPS practices. We will continue to use our hybrid model, offering the option to zoom in, to allow for all to participate and care for our community.
Current Health Guidelines for all MCPS In-Person Practices:
In consideration for the health of our community we ask that:
- Community members practice monitoring their health and stay at home if they feel unwell or are developing symptoms of illness such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or coughing.
- Considering that communicable diseases such as covid, flu, RSV and others can all have impact, our hybrid option is offered for many of our practices.
To continue to protect each other and our communities, the following protocols are in place at Dharma Gate:
- We strongly encourage masking for all our indoor spaces, ideally KN95 or N95 masks. Please bring your own mask, if you can, and some will be available on site.
- For those in which masking is a health concern, you are welcome to not mask. We kindly ask that you use the chairs in the back of the zendo.
- To create clarity for our hybrid practices, facilitators are encouraged to unmask when speaking.
- While we do not check vaccine history, we recommend that our community members educate themselves as to the CDC recommendation for COVID and Flu: https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2024/s-t0627-vaccine-recommendations.html.
- We have added protective measures in the zendo (e.g. air purification). When weather permits, we open the windows and offer some practices outside.
- We provide hand sanitizer when sharing meals.
- Our mindful eating practices are unmasked.
- We ask all participants sign in upon arrival with full name and email.
